Today is International Security Officers’ Day! Around the world, security officers are tasked with protecting personnel and property and often serve as first responders during incidents, arriving before police, fire, or emergency medical services. Their profession requires a unique blend of skill, competence, rationality, and compassion. Despite frequently going unnoticed and underappreciated, these dedicated professionals continue to perform their duties with wholehearted commitment.Consider the story of Myisha Pullum, a security officer at the Coronado Shores complex in Coronado, California. During her rounds near the pool area, Pullum encountered an unconscious child with a distressed parent attempting to revive them. Pullum immediately took control of the situation and administered CPR with precision and skill. After five minutes of resuscitative efforts, the child expelled water from their lungs and began breathing on their own. Her quick response and effective CPR were instrumental in saving the child’s life.If you know a security officer or see one today, take a moment to thank them for the invaluable job they do. Their often unseen and uncelebrated work keeps us all safe.https:www.securityinfowatch.comsecurity-executivesprotective-operations-guard-servicespress-release11249083alliedbarton-alliedbartons-myisha-pullum-receives-calsaga-security-officer-of-the-year-award
